Material and Structure
GDT PTFE Suture is a non-absorbable sterile surgical monofilament suture composed of 100% polytetrafluoroethylene thread, supplied in white. The suture contains no colorants or artificial additives, reflecting its biologically inert nature. Its high-grade needle is manufactured from imported heat-treated, laser-sharpened stainless steel, engineered to penetrate tissue and bone with precision while maintaining sharpness even after 30 passes.
Handling and Tissue Passage
The soft, smooth surface of GDT PTFE Suture allows for atraumatic passage through tissue, minimizing patient discomfort during and after the procedure. Its little to no package memory ensures the suture behaves predictably from the moment it is removed from packaging. Easy knot placement and great knot security give clinicians confident, controlled handling throughout the closure process, while the smooth surface actively prevents bacterial colonization along the suture line.
Clinical Benefits
GDT PTFE Suture is biologically inert and completely free of tissue reactivity, making it one of the most biocompatible non-absorbable suture options available. It does not irritate surrounding tissues and provides firm, reliable support throughout the healing process. With its combination of atraumatic handling, bacterial resistance, and exceptional patient comfort, GDT PTFE Suture is recognized as the most comfortable suture option with the highest patient satisfaction rate among non-absorbable materials.
Available Sizes and Sterilization
